Traveling millions of miles, reading thousands of books, and understanding countless people—this is the growth path of a strategist and the life creed of Mr. Zhao Yunlong. Passionate about reading and traveling, fate led him to study geology and geography at China University of Geosciences. He combined work with his studies, exploring the mountains and landforms of various countries, traveling across all seven continents, and visiting many countries, including the sparsely populated Arctic and Antarctic. On regular days, he is engrossed in books, particularly those on war strategy. He has delved into numerous military works, including "Sun Tzu's Art of War," "The Seven Military Classics," Clausewitz's "On War," and theories by contemporary American strategist Zbigniew Brzezinski. He enjoys combining these theories with the study of successes and failures of political and historical figures from different eras and regions.
In the 1990s, Mr. Zhao Yunlong conducted world economic research at the Institute of World Economics and Politics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and also served in the Ministry of Information Industry of China. Later, he ventured into business, integrating multiple companies into Guosen Group, where he served as chairman. The company flourished under his leadership, amassing assets worth hundreds of millions of RMB, and Zhao graced the covers of many magazines. Aspiring for further development, he decided to study abroad and was admitted to Columbia University in the United States. Since 2010, he has been a professional fellow in East Asian Studies at Columbia. In 2012, he joined the United Nations Headquarters, serving as the Deputy Director of the Expert Committee of the International Organization for Information Development. He immigrated to the United States in 2012 as an outstanding talent.
Mr. Zhao Yunlong is deeply interested in analyzing and researching world political and economic trends. He has invested over a million US dollars in various political pattern studies organized by the United Nations. Over the years, he has met many politicians, professors, and scholars, including former U.S. President Clinton, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. He has sought advice from American strategist Dr. Henry Kissinger and developed a friendship with Nobel laureate economist Robert Mundell, who helped him cultivate a rigorous academic attitude. These experiences have significantly enriched his knowledge and intellectual wisdom, providing him with a profound understanding of economic and social globalization. During this period, he published works such as "Utilization of Sun Tzu's Art of War in Contemporary Times," "Analysis of Political and Economic Trends in the Next Decade from 2012 to 2022," "Peace to Mutual Benefit, Win-Win War, and Lose-to-Win Sino-Japanese Relations," and a poetry collection "Long Xing Tian Xia." Under Professor Mundell's guidance, he proposed the "Monetary Unity Theory," suggesting a unified dominance of world currency by the U.S. dollar and Euro, which positively impacted the economics community. Zhao Yunlong served as the director of the expert committee of the Asia-Pacific Association at Columbia University and has lectured on Sun Tzu's Art of War and International Strategy at Harvard, Columbia, and other prestigious institutions.
Mr. Zhao Yunlong is enthusiastic about public welfare, receiving the Presidential Award-Volunteer Contribution Award from President Obama in 2015. In 2018, he joined President Trump's advisory board. He is also a member of the World Freemasonry.
